I recently bought a heavily pitted P08. I can still make out the crown stamps on the side and the dwm on top. However when looking at the Serial number spots there is only an 04 or 4.

I have an RC p08 which appears to be highly mismatched. Its an s/42 top and a great shooter, however there is a marking on the grip area i havent seen before. I was told by previous owner it was a WW1 marking but smells fishy. Any info would be great. http://imgur.com/lde3WPS
