Hi everyone.
I recently acquired 08 commercial army sn 70589. It is in excellent original condition throughout with original matching magazine. It has, however, two "issues". The first is the side plate is mismatched with same era DWM military plate numbered 78 exposed. The second issue is that it has a small cut on the bottom of the muzzle swell. It looks to be neatly done. Does anyone know what this might have been for?? Possibly for a Sudicatis night sight?? Any insight greatly appreciated. Regard,
JV

Your sideplate looks like a later replacement. Have not observed such a cut in the barrel band. Except for the items that you noted, you have an excellent, scarce, 1908 Commercial Army with a matching mag. The links below have additional information.
