·Greetings. I have received two Lugers from my sister for possible sale. They belonged to her husband who recently passed away. I have posted a 1941 DWM on the New Collectors Forum. I will post info and pics of the 1900 AE here. My brother-in-law had had several people look at these in the past, and he always believed they were worth "a lot of money." I realy don't know what my sister expects to get out of them which is why I have brought them to this forum. You are the experts. I do know she would like to see them go to a serious collector as opposed to someone not willing to take care of them. Any offers made on either Luger will be presented to her.
Now, the AE - We do know that it was purchased by my brother-in-law's uncle while he was on leave in Portugal shortley after WWII. It appears to be in great mechanical condition, the finish and straw have problems. I would guess it to be 70-75% blue, straw about 30-40%. The corner of the left wood grip is broken off between the safeties. It appears as if there has been light steel wool action on the sides of the barrel and strap, as if at one time there was light rust. I may be wrong here, but I want to be honest, and to my eye that is what it looks like. There is no pitting. Serial number is 13295. Stamped "GERMANY" Thanks to all the members who have been so kind and helped me so far! Tom DOwns
