Hello all
I just wanted to post a few photos of this First Issue for those who collect or need additional unit marks. This pistol has no finish left,pitting and has a overall grey appearance and missmatched mag.Unit mark 53.R.4.2

Ed, unit marked Imperials are cool and "slick backs" are great! Thanks for posting.

Nice Imperial unit marked Luger. Good find for your collection. I find Imperial unit marked equipment very interesting, because of their apparent recorded history.

The 53ed regiment was part of the 14th Division at the begining of the Great War, but in 1916 it was reassigned to the 50th Divison. US Military Intelegence considered the 50th a first class divison and the 53ed regiment's commander was highly decorated.

This Luger served with a distinguished regiment that saw a lot of serious action.
