Thanks Jan. I think this was probably reissued around 1935 as evidenced by the magazine and the sear safety with no magazine safety. This pistol is an excellent shooter with some pretty impressive performances at 50 yards.

Don, The serial number is 8413 b, with no unit marks on the pistol. The magazine bottom is renumbered in the police style, with no letter suffix and a "2" indicating the second magazine. As noted the Tube is a Haenel Schmeisser indicating replace in 1935 or later using the renumbered police wooden bottom. So it is a replacement bottom on a replacement tube!

The pistol is currently in Cincinnati in my son's safe while I am in Pittsburgh. The computer with those files crashed a long time ago and I do not know where the backup CD of pictures is.

The pistol case is marked P. S. 8,83 on the back on the upper row and P. ? 194 on the lower row. There is an additional serial number on the back and this pistol's number on the front. I purchased this pistol from Tom A after it had been refinished by Ted Green. Tom indicated it was in rough shape when he bought the rig but showed no signs of having been messed with. My email is [email protected]. If you send me yours I will send you a better picture provided I can find it :-(
