An on line dealer has a 1917 Artillery marked 164.R.1.1(or2) last # wallowed and illegible. What unit would this be?

This is why I asked about the unit marks. I got this yesterday. 1917 Artillery.95%+ cond. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear. All matching except side plate, which is force matched(soon to be rectified by the seller).And magazine, which is proper era.
I read in another post that very few 1917s were unit marked. Is this true? And does anyone know approx. what percentage may have been?
I'm still waiting for my copy of Imperial Lugers from Idsabooks to show up.They seem to be taking their time. I hope you enjoy looking at it, as much as I enjoy looking at other pistols on the forum. Ron

Jan estimates that approx., 1% were unit marked in 1917, out of a total of 180,000 Lange and P08's produced.

Ron, Jan Still reports about 1% of 1917 LP08's are found unit marked (IMPERIAL LUGERS AND THEIR ACCESSORIES).

Ed and Geo, thanks for the simultanious info. I contacted Idsabooks to find out where the hell my books are. Haven't gotten a reply.It's been 2 weeks.

Geo, I sleep when the spooks let me. Usually up at 4:00 or earlier.
Go to bed when I fall asleep in the recliner.
