Welcome.
Looks like you did well for $2k, from the limited pictures.

You will need to post more, closer pictures of the rig to answer your question on originality, but it looks ok so far.

Why is that?
Jerry Burney, A.K.A. Lugerholsterrepair, is the undisputed master of Luger holsters and others. He is the guru you go to when you have a question about Luger leather. Seriously, he probably knows more about German leather than anyone on the planet.

Bill, Thanks but I ain't as smart as all that. This Bender book is and has been available for only $65 for months now and anyone who doesn't have a copy should get one. Especially of you have any ideas about laying out 2 thousand dollars for Luger stuff. It's the second book I ever bought and it has hours of fascinating reading in it. Information galore..not a boring page in the thing. Besides which, I am busy pushing a needle and as much as I would love to explain myself..it's not always possible. Or if your as cheap as Harry Greer you can activate the search panel here..But Bender's book is not only worth the measly 65 bucks it's necessary... and a convenient reference to anyone serious enough to be a big money player in Luger's.

I couldn't agree more. Jerry is definitely the man for leather. He is as good as any of the best German sattlers. I would not even consider letting anyone else work on my holsters. I look at something in my Benders book weekly. Great reference. Bill

Ike,
when you post more and better pictures, please put them on the server here.
Many of us can't or won't go to outside hosting sites, and the pictures there will eventually disappear and make any answers meaningless.

Jerry is the expert for sure, but I'm curious about the details too- and I have the book- I just can't tell that much from those pictures.

For starters look at the closure strap on the pouch. Definitely not German and very normal for repros. Look at the stitching on the holster closure strap. The rest I leave for the expert Jerry. Bill

Ike,

The gun shop should be able to release all the items to you, right away, except for the gun.

The $ 2000 spent is probably in the gun-value if original finish, etc.

The accessories (leather and stock) are just a "throw in" as part of the deal. So not to fret too much about those.

Some better photos of the wooden shoulder stock would help our Artilley folks see if that is an original piece or a repro, too.

The two black bakelitte magazines are not WWI-era but from WW-II...Mauser Luger magazines. Probably $ 125 or so each in that condition.

I have moved your photos over and lightened them up a bit so our Artilley folks can advise you more on the pistol.

The stock appears to be a "Persian contract".

The so called Persian leather I have seen is EXACTLY the same as foreign made repro stuff that started coming into the US in the seventies when the pistols were imported.

The type leather and stitching on the holster do not appear to be Persian. Can't tell on the pouch. It at least is Persian style. The board may well be Persian??? Bill
It's my understanding that the German artillery rigs were never issued with a carry strap mag pouch, only a belt type. Is that incorrect ?

Yes Harry..that is true. Persia, AKA Iran, near Pakistan..India..anything coming out of that area ain't German and Persian is just another word for repro IMO, not always of course but mostly.

NICE Artillery pouch Harry!
