As is obvious, the magazine is not original to the pistol, but it is the one that came with it when I acquired the pistol.

Is there any thoughts out there regarding the apparent Navy markings on the rear gripstrap and the Navy magazine? Could this piece have been issued to Navy land fighting personnel near the end of WW1, or could these markings be Weimar issued for the post war navy? Very interesting to see these on an artillery piece.

I would guess that the magazine was changed (or added to it) before I obtained it. Navy magazines are not all that hard to find. I will say that the finish is not too good on the magazine. It shows that it has been used, but used where I do not know.

Thought I would send along a few pictures of my 1918/1920 4 inch Weimar Navy. SN is 4984g. I tell people I have never met a luger I didn't like........ but this one sure ain't in the top ten of all time favorites.

The M/A and number is different from the one posted on the ARTY/NAVY and I haven't seen enough of these to really have an opinion but I don't think I would bet the farm on mine........
