Droop Wing Eagle=DE, Stick Wing Eagle =SE, Mid Test Proof=MTP
1937 S/42, sn 12xxr, DE/63 DE/63 MTP (Simpsons list)
1937 S/42, sn 6561u, DE/63 DE/63 MTP
1937 S/42, sn 2536x, DE/63 DE/63 MTP
1937 S/42, sn 3271x, DE/63 DE/63 MTP
1937 S/42, sn 3289z, SE/63 DE/63 MTP
1937 S/42, sn 8xxb, SE/63 SE/63 MTP (Simpsons list)
1938 S/42, sn 7289i, SE/63 SE/63 MTP
1938 S/42, sn 6318L, SE/63 SE/63 MTP
1938 S/42, sn 2654n, SE/63 SE/63 MTP
1938 S/42, sn 2176m, SE/83 SE/63 MTP

Update, I added several lugers to the above list. The transition from DE/63 DE/63 to SE/63 DE/63 and to SE/63 SE/63 and then to SE/83 SE/63 occurs in the serial range from 1937 S/42, sn 3271x; to 1938 S/42, sn 2176m. Any additional data to better tie down this transition would be greatly appreciated and reported on this Forum.

Jan..... Thanks for catching my error. GOOD EYE !!!! The #3289 that I was trying to make into an "X" block is a "Z" block gun. The other 1937 I have REALLY is an "X" block although not nearly as close.
