hello all
of all the guns i have ever wanted the luger is on the top of my list. I have recently put a luger on layaway at the local gun shop. It is a 1938 s/42. it apears to be all matching top half and a matching bottom half (different numbers though). I do know that it is 2 different time frames as the lower half has strawed parts which should not be after 1937 i belive. there is a mark that looks like an m on the front of the trigger guard and that is the mark i would like information about.

Hi Matt,

The m on the gripstrap is part of the serialnumber. So if the frame number is 1234, the correct number of your bottom-half (or rather that of the gun's) would by 1234m.

Hi
The - m - suffix with the straw small parts might indicate a 1936 frame. RE: Only - m - before 1938, was in 1936. the next - m - appears in 1938 but the small parts would be blue.
Good Luck
