I have a 87xxQ block byf that has been around quite a bit, it looks like at one time it spent some time in England because it has NP 9/mm 752" 13 TONS stamped on the bottom of the barrel.
It has wood grips only the right one has a 655 proof (very faint) and no numbers.
The mag is totally unmarked with a aluminum bottom.
Every thing matches.
The question is are these the right grips?
I think the mag is a repro, what would be the right mag an FXO, aluminum or black?

Q is pretty early 1941 ,issued with most likely numbered to gun (2) aluminum bottom E/37 fxo . The grips would be E/655 proofed and should have the last 2 digit of serial .

if you’d like a mag that’s more appropriate, You could look for an fxo with E/37 acceptance stamps on it. The mag should have a center pin. The one that you displayed above has a rear pin. In 1940 Mauser started switching from rear pin to center pin mags, I believe it was around the b block of 1940. If you have over 25 posts you can put a WTB ad on this forum. I would also watch Legacy and Simpsons. Mags pop up every once in a while and ones that are numbered to a gun and have a letter blocks suffix usually run about $150. I think if you could find the appropriate letter block suffix for your gun that that would be good. It would be very difficult to try to find a mag with the proper serial number .

I was on the Simson site and most of the mags listed there were in the 700.00-900.00 range.
I know a legit mag is not going to be cheap but, I don't want to over spend.
By center pinned I assume you mean thru the center of the bottom piece? Rather than behind it?
Do you have a complete address for Legacy?

It's Legacy-Collectibles

P.S. Give them a call. They don't post most of their magazines on-line, so call them and ask.
