Thanks Jan for the prompt reply on my previous question below. It prompts a more general question. Were Weimar police issued 7.65 Lugers in any quantity? My understanding is that 9mm was the standard police caliber, but I have only this forum and John Walter's book for information. Looks like I am going to have to invest in some literature!

Yup, gots to buy those books!

From Weimar Lugers, it states (this is from memory), that a small portion of guns are found in 7.65 for police.
