This is an Army marked Colt that I assume is an antique. the condition is fair, but it has some added providence with interesting markings on the grips. Out of my area of collecting......Value would help? ....(silver inlay on the letters)I found out from another Forum member that Dr WD Preston was a Army Surgeon assigned to the Philippines and departed for Manilla on May23, 1902...departed and Assigned to Luzon June 24,1903. I'm guessing a native wood worker made the grips with the silver inlay for the doctor.....Kind a neat!
As always, thanks for looking,
Joe

Nice revolver. Certainly historic...

Don't assume it qualifies as an "antique". I checked serial number 142808) and it probably dates to 1900:

Year of Manufacture
1900
