Hi All,

Another grips quiery.

I just purchased a holster and two sets of walnut grips.

First pair....
Both grips are stamped '07' but the lefthand also has 'K' above the number stamp........Would this be for a K date?

The guy i bought them from told me the other pair were from a 1937 pistol, don't know how he knew this though. This pair are both numbered '94'. Large digits, about 1/4" high.

Any ideas........

Regards,

Steve.

The "K" is not for the date but is one of many large letter markings that appear on the reverse of luger grip panels. I assume it is a fairly large font letter.

The large font serial numbered grip panels are typical Mauser from the 1930s-40s. The large number 94 on back of a panel is consistent with the serial numbering on a 1937 S/42 luger. It is not possible to guarantee it was from a 1937 luger but it is consistent with that story. Wonder why he took the grips off a 1937 luger?
