Another Portuguese M 2

Hello all
Here is another Portuguese M2 S.N. 1617 with accessories. This pistol appears to have been refinished at some time as there is light pitting under the grips that show it wears a new(old?)rust blue finish and the inside of the frame is still in the white. The straw on the small parts is in perfect condition.
As always all comments and observations are welcome.

A very nice rig indeed! It's interesting that the "AE" stamps on the holsters don't seem to have any rhyme nor reason to location. Of my two holsters, one is stamped inside and the other on the back. Your holster is stamped in a different place than either of mine.

From just what I can see in your pictures, IMO your M2 has not been refinished but has an excellent original finish. I could be wrong but I don't see any evidence of rounded corners or buffed-out stamps. In my observations, the two digits stamped on the back of the rear toggle is almost always more shallow and not as sharp as other stamps on a Luger. I tend to think that the numbers were stamped on that part before final buffing and bluing. Again, that's just my opinion.

Hello Doubs
I should have been a little more clear. I sometimes take my hobbie to work with me and they say all play and no work makes Ed a poor boy!
The holster is A.E stamped in the usual place. The other photos were of the double mag. pouch markings. I hope these additional photos clear up the confusion
Thanks
Ed

Thanks for another outstanding presentation.

Thanks Ed. One of my holsters is marked "AE" in the same place while the other is marked on the back. The manufacture of each is also different...... one uses layered leather and the other is exactly like yours. Very nice pictures, BTW.
Hello Ed
I have a double mag pouch but the "AE" is inside the flap about 3cm or more than 1" under the rivet it 's the same small stamp; on the holster it seem more big
No pic because the stamp is "light" if you understand what I mean

Thank all of you for your reply's.
LU1900, I do understand what you mean by the light stamps in the leather. I also have been having a hard time making some out. As well as I can tell the stamping on the inside flap on the A.E marked double magazine pouch reads C B 3 / A / 1 6 5 9
Again thanks to all.

I've been offered a nice AE holster for my M2. It has no cleaning rod but otherwise complete. Is $150.00 a good price? Jim
