I saw that Sauer 38H double E/37 before it sold but the description did not move my slow brain to think double E/37 when it is described as having two (2) E/37 marks--daaaaaahh! It is a very nice one and for $675 with the holster is a STEAL. I saw one that I almost bought back at SOS in 2004 without holster and not quite as nice of shape as this one for $1175. Oh well, I will keep looking and try to pay better attention to sales descriptions and look at the pictures carefully.
I knew that it was rare, and then tried to pass it on to others. A friend sent me the link as we both just bought our first Sauers. When I did research on the 38H there were threads on the double E/37, but I still passed knowing that. No regrets, it's not what I'm looking for. I like shooters more than collector pieces.
Indeed this gun is rare and nice. Regrading the price it is underrated. I have one of these double eagle/37 ones which has an earlier serial number. S# 271 089. Regards Dietrich
