I'm trying to better identify what I have. I understand this to be an artillery luger with matching serial numbers 642 (and then 42 stamped on all other pieces). It is a 1917. Please see pictures and thank you very much in advance for your knowledge, expertise and help! If you can help establish its value, I would appreciate that too.

IMO grips are not original to the gun.
But let's wait for more images.

She's a rough old girl, pitted, but looks like original finish. Doug is right on the grips. If I were buying this one I'd offer $900 tops, It's a matching shooter at this point, possibly a candidate for a restore?
