I am a new member, this is my first foray into the Luger forum and any help from members would be appreciated.

I own an Artillery Model P08 DWM Luger date stamped 1917, serial number 6999h. It appears original with all major parts bearing the last 2 digits of the serial number, (except for magazine).

On the underside of the barrel, below the serial number, are the numerals eight comma eighty three, (i.e. 8,83). I have seen these or similar numbers in photos. Can some one advise me of their meaning.
Regards,
Karajini

Hi,

They are the exact diameter or calibre. So 8.83mm (from land to land, if I remember correctly).
Perfectly correct on your LP08.
