One of those days in Las Vegas, NV we eagerly anticipate after a brutal long summer--cool pleasant day. Sort of like those of you in the east that are happy spring is beckoning after a long cold harsh winter. Sooooo, I decided to bail from work early and do a little collectible pistol housekeeping and rearranging in the safes. Anyway, I got to looking at my Astra pistols and decided to take some pictures for you viewing enjoyment. I have always liked the Astra 300 and 600 pistols and so I am always on the lookout for better (higher grade) ones. They are very fun pistols to shoot and very accurate. The pistols below represent quite a few years of upgrading and finding the best examples I can find. I am happy with these and each is in very nice condition especially the non waffen stamped 300 that I found in Louisville this year at the SOS and NGD shows back in February. This 300 is in like new condition and came with a very nice condition holster (not pictured) which are very difficult to find. The waffen stamped 300 is in caliber 9mm Kurz or .380 amd the non waffen stamped 300 is in caliber 7.65 or .32. Anybody else care to post pictures of your Astra pistols I know I would enjoy seeing them. Thanks and Best Regards to everyone!

Thanks Jan & Dean for the nice comments on my Astras. I have always liked the Astra 300 and 600 pistols ever since I first saw one. They are a very well made and precision fitted pistol and like Jan says in his Axis Pistols book "They have earned a well deserved reputation for reliability on the battlefields of Europe".

Pancho I really enjoy your pictures and would love to find a nice Astra 900 someday. I have always enjoyed your web site and the tremendous amount of work you put into cataloging and displaying your fine collection of collelctible pistols. The detail pictures and dialogue are just tremendous. I have learned a lot from your web site data and it is a excellent reference source with all the many variations of pistols you display! How long has it taken you to put that outstanding collection together?

I have added a few pictures of a very early Astra 300 along with the holster I mentioned in my first post on this thread. This Astra was part of the first German Army contract shipment in October of 1941. It is not waffen stamped as is correct. The barrel hood is marked 9mm & 380. It is all matching including the magazine. It has one early feature that the later ones do not have--it is plainly visible in the picture. (It is not the difference in the marking on the barrel hood 9mm & 380 versus the later 9mm Kurz). Just for the fun of it does anybody see the difference between the later 300s and this early 300. Anyway, hope you enjoy these pictures.

Thanks for the referral and recomendation on the Astra 900. That is one beautiful 900. Yes, I am familiar with and have the Astra book by Leonardo Antaris and consider it a valuable and very useful resource. I would certainly love to have an Astra that has passed through the knowledgable and discerning hands of Dr. Antaris. I just checked my gun collecting piggy bank and I am afraid I am about $3,000 short of what I would need to snag that beauty. Wonder if he would accept terms? Oh well, it is fun to dream and "rub shoulders" with all you guys! Thanks Gentlemen.
