Picked this up a little while back. The holster is numbered to the pistol and bears a Taisho 3.11 date (Nov. 1914). The stamped marking reads "Army Infantry Captain Miyake Katsumi". I've been trying to find out about this original owner but have met with no success yet. If anyone knows how to get this information I'd sure like to hear from you! This one has a story to tell!

Rob:

Have you considered enlisting Henry Sakaida's, Banzai member, assistance in locating the previous owner of this rig? Henry enjoys these "searches" and has had phenominal luck in the past in locating or obtaining information regarding combatants from both sides of the conflict in the Pacific.

Yes, I contacted Henry soon after I bought this pistol & he didn't seem very interested in helping on this.
