Barrel marking on P.38

On P.38 ac41 SN 8195 c I found marking with four-pointed-star and number 22. Pistol is all matching, nice finish. Do yo know something about this marking??

There are a number of strange litle stamps that seem to appear..and I don't know what they mean..perhaps, different things at different times?

Hi Jan,

this is one of a couple of different inspector marks found especially on the Walther HP and some early P38 pistols.

You can find one or two digit numbers, letters and geometric shapes like this four pointed star within a star or rectangle, triangle hexagon, circel and others.
