Gentleman, good day. Just picked this up. Presented as a British issued tank crew piece. Seller had no history of the weapon. The numbers T1879 can be found on the frame, barrel and flip piece. Also " FTR 53 " .... which I'm told by our morn'n coffee " gun expert" it's a rebuild from WWII...?
Also " BNP " with a crown above the letters stamped on several locations. ".38 3 1/5 .767 tons " stamped.
It has a trigger pull of about... 100 pounds.. and I have a serious dent in my thumb pressing the lever to break it open.
I took about 50 photos with my cell phone.. these are the pick of the littler. I'm not a serious collector. I have a couple of Germans .. ( Lugar, Sauer 38H) a 1911.45, picked up a Type 14 Nambu. Next I want to find a shooter Russian and Italian revolver and my small collection will be complete.
Thanks all for any details... on this tanker.
