Hello all - wanted to report a BYF 41 Military/Police luger that I have in my collection now. Have inherited over 40 lugers and this is one of them. Serial is 1653n. It has a sear safety and a matching police magazine. Interestingly, it has the number 9 struck into the front grip strap as well on the bottom of the magazine. All numbers are matching, including the wood grips. Please see pictures and let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks!

I'm jealous too ;). Forty Lugers, wow... Any Simson or early 1900's? :)

i would guess the number nine is some kind of weapon number for the police.

Most later police did not have a sear safety, so interesting to see.

Hello Ed - there are two Simsons but have likely been reported by Henry Richardson, whom I inherited the collection from. He and I spoke with you about our Simsons several years ago, it seems. Here are their serials: Undated Simson toggle, serial 9821 and Simson S-Code, serial 1299a. Earliest 1900 is test eagle 7108, which has been reported. Thank you!
