Hello,
I bought this Luger together with a nickel plated P-38 sight unseen from a pawn shop in Houston. I figured the P38 had little value, but the description of the Luger sounded good, anyway I paid $600 for the pair. I know I rolled the dice, but I had high hopes for the Luger. Upon inspection I found the well hidden import mark on the left side of the frame, the barrel has no serial # and or proof mark that I can find, the take down lever and toggle pin do not match the rest of the gun. Neither of the mags seem to match the gun either. The finish is more of a black than blue

I have almost no experience with Lugers and this is the first WWII era I have owned.

Do I have a "shooter grade" luger or does it have collector value?
Is it a VOPO refurbished luger?
Any idea on the markings on the barrel?

I am a new member and any information on the gun and value would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Craig

Sounds like you did okay, yes, both are shooters. I am unsure if you have a Vopo Luger, still hard to tell by the pictures.

But a P38 makes for a fine shooter, I am sure you could still get $150 or more for it, least I would :)

The luger looks nice, hard to say its history, would need more info, need to know if all matching etc, but a shooter luger goes for $450-$600...

Oh, and WELCOME to the forum!

Thanks Ed, the numbers all match except the takedown lever and toggle pin (and the barrel)
