Hello!

I just bought a byf 44 rig.
The serial number is 6769.
The gun is complete with holster and both original magazines.

The holster is marked with WaA938 and the Akah-logo.
Both magazines are marked "P38, WaA706, jvd".

The rig is completely untouched, and has been hidden away ever since 1945.
Below are links to some pictures.

HI; Nice. I usually see BYF44's with WA135 mags. Although there is no particular reason why the others wern't issued as well. Any date on the holster? Doug

Dear Pete:

Very nice rig! I own a Byf 1943 rig. It is downstairs in the safe so I don't have all the info. I aslo could not find the date of mfger anywhere and then thought it was not dated. It is stamped on top right on back with P38. Then I lifted the left belt loop and there was a faint stamp with the manfgers 3 letters and a 43 below it!

Good luck my friend.

Regards,

George

The "bear skin rug" logo Akah holsters are an exception to the rule of having a maker secret code. There is usually a date in the bottom section of the logo. The Akah logo holsters are tough to find. I have attached a picture of mine so you can see the date. The location of the logo differs greatly from what I have seen.

Regards, Leon
