I have a 1930 Commercial Broomhandle. Serial # 895xxx..the only place the serial# is stamped is on the chamber. My other Broomhandles(WW1 Commercials) are numbered extensively. My 1930 side-rails are smooth without lightening cuts. Is this serial# placement typical for 1930 Commercials? Jim

Not according to my references and observations. Early model 1930's (with the longitudenal grooves in the barrel extension side rails), have the serial number on the left side of the chamber on the barrel flat AND at the top of the rear grip strap. Late model 1930's ( without the longitudinal cuts in the barrel extenstion), have the serial number ONLY on the rear of the barrel extension behind the rear sight!! The noted serial # range for the LATE 1930 model is 900302 - 921075. Hope this helps!

Hello, 1930 broomhandles have serialnumbers inside the frame, to see them, you must disassample the slide and have a look on top of the frame at the magazine. Probably you can find the Ser.# there.
Other 1930 s have the ser# at the area on the rear sight!
