Bob,

this is an interesting pistol - and a tough nut to crack! Can you give us additional info about this pistol? Any proof markings, internal markings? Can you give us a photo of the top view? What is the purpose of the bolt running through the slide?

Regards

Bob,
This is a tough one!! I got a headache going through hundreds of pictures in "The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Handguns" by A.B. Zhuk. I have never been able to NOT find the handgun in that book....but, no dice. I may have missed it though, there are hundreds of drawings. If you don't have that book, try a labrary!! Good Luck!!!

I looked through "Zhuk" and I didn't see it either. Looks to be German with the D.R.P.a. and "Kal." on the slide. Bob, if you are wanting to sell it, please let me know. I would be interested.

The only reference I've found is in Pawlas, page 281, but no details are shown. Serial number on this one is 2, with a mismatched barrel.... Next time I find it in the basement, I'll look for additional markings.

I have seen a Zehna pistol from Germany with D.R.P.A underneath the Zehna name. It was made by a company named Zehner out of Suhl. Maybe this is another product of that company.

Similar shaped .25 pistol was made by C.E. HEINNZELMANN company in Plochingen / Neckar, Germany about 1930. This pistol was made completely from steel forgings. As far as I know inventor of this pocket pistol was Mr. Heim. (PATENT HEIM). Maybe is it a eperimental construction by the same inventor.

Jan,

you are correct: Johannes Heim from Plochingen had a patent and a similar (?) looking pistol. But I doubt, that this patent has something to do with Bob's LH marked sheet metal pistol.
