I have a chance to trade a Manhurin PP in 98% for this gun. Just wanted to get some opinions. The only thing that really bothers me is the name stamped on the grip.

It appears to be a nice CZ-24?...

Check the grips over..they appear a bit 'funky' to me ( I am not a CZ expert but I think it should have wooden grips) I would not let the "Schmidt" name bother me at all!

A serial number and detailed info on the proof markings would help!

Orv, The J lion 37 vintage Cz-24's had the bakelite (sp?) grips. So the grips look OK for the vintage. The name on the grip is not original or even Czech.

This pistol is probably the most common of the Cz-24 pistols. Ultimately it is up to you but I would find one that isn't marked with a name like that.
