I was thinking today about how little I know about WWII pistols other than the "popular" models such as the Luger, and 1911. I wouldn't begin to be able to place a value on a CZ 27 if I saw one. So I'm asking someone in the know to give me a little info on the different variations/values of this pistol, or point me in a direction where I can find out. I'm just looking for a basic understanding so I'm not clueless should I come across one of these firearms. I've also posted looking for info on the Beretta 1934 in the Italian Forum if anyone has any knowledge on that pistol. Thanks.

jetteraf,

I would to the thread at the below ling to find out about some fo the Cz-27's

http://www.gunboards.com/luger/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1263

There are many other Cz-27 postings on this section of the forum. Look thru the rest of the pages to find a fair amount of cz-27 info and examples.

Typically I would say any decent Cz-27 is a $200 minimum up to $300-$350 range on the earlier examples. When you get into the police and commercial pieces prices go up, sometimes way up. U guns I have seen sell in the $1500 range. Some unique pieces have sold in the $1200 range. The war time guns the earlier the better the finish, the more they cost. The later the war the sloppier they got so theya re in the lower end of the price range. Prices do tend to be creaping up on the nicer pieces.

It appears that your quest for knowledge about secondary pistols used by the Third Reich can best be fulfilled by obtaining a copy of an authoritative book on this subject. There is no better book for your purposes than "Axis Pistols" by Jan Still. I don't know if the author has any available at present, but you should contact him directly if you wish to purchase this book.

I have to agree with Aaron- armed with a copy of Axis Pistols, you will have so much knowledge about all the the pistols- it has earned it's weight in gold over the years in my purchases- THANKS JAN!

I have to 2nd Aarons sentiment...Buy as many books as you can afford. Jan Stills Axis Pistols is a must have as are all of his volumes.

This will not give you exactly what you are asking about however. I too wanted a CZ27 so I looked at every auction I could find as well as web sites selling guns. This gave me a ball park figure for what today's current values might be. Give this a try...Jerry Burney
