Can anyone provide photos of the markings inside original first-contract Dutch grips? I found a stange pair of grips this weekend which I believe started out as first-contract Dutch, but need something with which to compare.

No photos of these right now, but coming soon.

Hello Dwight
I have a old first issue Dutch Contract serial number 1188. The left grip has fine checkering but the right grip has been replaced with a coarse checkered grip, maybe a Java replacement grip but lacks the "GS" marking.
Thanks again

Guys,

Your pictures show what I was expecting. Seeing this thread again, I'm find myself remiss in that I never posted the grips I referred to. I recently picked up this pair of Dutch grips, numbered 2887. They have been modified in a very unique fashion: the grip panel faces have been shaved flat, painted white, and clear plexiglas has been cut and shaped to face the grips and riveted into place. The modification is apparently quite old.

I would like to see these grips reunited with the Luger to which they belong, so I posted them in the "For Sale" forum as available for trade.

And Ed, a very nice Dutch Luger, thanks for showing it.
