Two very nice pistols and holsters! I really like those canvase holsters and you don't come across them that often. What is the date on the late war example? Here is a photo of my late war Type 94. It is dated 20.4 (April 1945) and has the square back cocking knob. These Type 94's are very interesting pistols!
Thanks for sharing. Dean

Here is another 20.4 date, serial #'d very late in that month's production run. Derby and Brown list the high serial # for April, 1945, as 69996; the serial # on this pistol is 69965. It has two matching mags and exhibits the typical late war finish.

Garfield and others, I know for lugers, but how often do you find ONE matching mag for a Nambu, type 14 or 94?

Let alone TWO?

??

Must be hard as hell to find? ((great find btw!))

In my opinion, I see more Japanese pistols with matching mags than Lugers...Two matching mags is different, I have only seen a few (less than ten). Dean
Here are 3 of my Type 14s. 1944 with matched mag, Transition with large trigger guard but no mag spring and a shop prototype that I found in a pawn shop! Some day I will do a write up on the shop gun..when I can find more time.

This is my 20.4 date all matching with matched mag.

I recently ran across a 17 date with two matched mags but when I took apart the gun the bolt pin was mismatched so I sent the gun back, it was a difficult decision to make but a mismatch is a mismatch.

Thanks Leon, I don't know about rare, as I've had a number of them over the years, but certainly expensive! I wish I'd have kept the ones I used to have - I wouldn't have had to give an arm & leg for this one!
Edit - I changed the wording so it doesn't sound like I've had lots of these boxes. I guess I was lucky to have had the ones I did. Seems like they have certainly become much more difficult to find during the last few years!
