Early Mauser M1910 serial # 264

Hi everyone, and thanks for letting me in. I just bought this small beauty, and it arrived by post just after I left for my workrotation in the oilfields offshore... So, I haven't held it yet, let alone seen it with my own eyes 😀 It is a very early gun, #264. It has no markings on one side of the slide, and the usual Mauser Waffenfabrik and logo on the opposite side. I have some question for the experts... I want to know dates and production numbers. Do we know anything about contract? How many known older guns? And ofcourse, money value. When I get home, I'll get more pictures and send off to the Mauser Archive, but until then I'm very excited to hear what you know about these early guns.

some more pictures would be helpful!

Are the magazine and small parts also numbered? Also interesting is the safety release button.

Enclosed is a (somewhat poor picture) of my SN 198.

We have a zoom call once or twice a month put on by one of our members, and we discussed Mauser 1910's, not in huge detail, and we could do another one.

I am just learning about the M1910. @Mauro has most records of that timeframe, he did a write up and certification of sn 319.
Thank you guys 😀 There will be more pictures when I get home. I am in contact with Mauro and will definitely get it certified by him. I'm just excited to get as much information as I can before then 😀

Yours has the noticeable side-latch feature from your photo. It should also have the small diameter checkered safety as seen in Stucki's photo.

Mine is a later side-latch version with the larger safety button with concentric circles.

Nice early example, good to know that Nickl himself actually worked on this one.

Early indeed. The magazine seems to be a later model. Somewhat modified to fit the sidelatch.
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.
