Thought the HK collectors would enjoy seeing an eary S date serial #83 with the bottle shaped dagger. The grips are later replacement HK fine checkered brown; the way I got it. Mag is early Haenel flat loading button (non-matching).

Wow - I love that serial number - and the detail shot of the early toggle stamp showing the definition of the dagger during that timeframe! As most know - the toggle stamp evolved over the course of the Krieghoff production years/variations - and your's shows the earliest earmarks given the "U" and the roughness in the dagger and it's point point being ill-defined, which is associated *only* with the G production and the very Early S series. Your's is absolutely correct and simply wonderful....!!!

We now might have 2 HK guns with the SN-83.

This one (deactivated, heavily rusted and pitted) is on this UK site for sale as a deactivated pistol.

If it is a real HK gun, etc...it has some oddities :

1. Crown/N proof on left receiver flat (maybe a commercial HK) but I do not see a P-prefix on the front frame.

2. Seems to have a later HK toggle link...not the earlier "SUHL" marked link.

Here are the photos from the UK site :

I agree with Ron, here it is with the contrast increased. Hard to see how that's an "83".
