I recently picked up what I beleive is a 1918 Erfurt (s/n 460 m )marked B.S.236. . Any help would be apreciated!

Is it blued? Is it nickled? Base is wood?

Why do you think it is a 1918 Erfurt?

WP...I beleive it's a Erfurt by the Crown/ Letter on the bottom of the mag. No dig cam...so no pics. Markings are as follows: Mag bottom toe to heel; 1, 460 m, C/D?(Hard to read Gothic charictures!),Back spline..B.S.236. . I'm new to P08's, but reading Jeff Noll's book, it could be: Bavarian Hospital/Ambulance Unit 236?? Any other SWAG'S??

I think that George stated it might be a police marking, that is my guess also. I have heard and seen police marked on the spine, but no others, further, the letter for B "could" be Berlin, or several others.... I thought maybe Bavarian also, but unsure...

No scanner either, one you could lay the mag on and scan a picture or three?

It is almost certainly not Bavarian. The genre screams interregnum police. You can wish as you will but it won't make it something it aint. As it is, it's probably a magazine with a bit of a premium value.
