Does anyone know where I can find a fake Political leader PPK grips, the PPk I just bought has broken grips. And I like the Political grips better than the walther ones. But real PL grips are too expensive!

Henry,

Excellent copies (fake) grips go for the same price as the real ones. That is why they are fakes!

The crooks go through a lot of work to make a set of grips that can pass by a collector or dealer who has basic knowledge. The metal insert in the new fakes can even confound an experienced collector.

Don't know where the repros can be found.

Hello,
to me this looks like an engraved "Edelweiß" (alpine flower) plus the letter "L" (in Latin handwriting). The "Edelweiß" was and still is the symbol of the "Gebirgsjägerdivision", but I doubt whether this was officially done by an armourer. It looks like an engraving which was done privately - maybe as a present to an officer.
By the way: this gun was made in 1941.
Dieter.
