You can't determine the cutoff by serial numbers as both the 1910 and 1922 serial ranges were restarted after the war. You have to look for the features.

Please elaborate. I figure if it says Browning Arms Company that it's 1955 or later. What other features determine date?

grips, markings, differences in slide legend slide, depth of striking/roll-engraving the slide-legend, even the (blue) finish...
