Gentlemen,

I found this nice example at a local gun show in Marlboro, MA a few weeks ago for $300.00. I got there early on Saturday morning before any other savvy collectors had a chance to snap her up.

Notice the nice plum colored slide.

Nice Mark! I would have snapped her up, too.

Ltc jim,
The grips on mine are warped too. Not too obvious from a side view but looking at the pistol from the back it is REAL obvious. I have heard this is common.

Mark, great looking pistol. They are very accurate shooters as well!!!

The grips on mine are also warped, though mainly on the right side grip. It also had a plum colored slide, just as yours does (the finish on mine on the slide is very worn)Is this the one you said had the barrel proofed, but not numbered to match the frame? Mine is marked in the exact same way. I wonder when the barrels started getting matched up? I've noticed a few things about earlier MAB Model D pistols than the later German issue. For one, the grips are slightly different. Compare your pistol to one with an 80,000 or 90,000 serial number. Also, there seems to be some variations in the sights.

I managed to pick mine up for $175 in 60-70% all matching condition with a correct German marked holster (WaAD20 under Eagle w/ Swastika) and two magazines. I don't know if was a great deal, but I'm happy with it!!! Fun to shoot!!!

Longbranch,

Yes, this is the pistol I mentioned in my previous post. I feel good knowing the grips are not warped as this seems to be an issue with some of the other guns mentioned.

You can't knock any rig for $175.00. Here is MA, guns usually go for more than the value in other parts of the country. I have seen the MAB D on some of the well know dealer websites for $495-595 in 98%+ but of course that is the retail price.
