Thanks for the photographs. I dont recall seeing a military production Luger without a receiver witness mark, or with an E/211 stamp on the receiver lug. The next time I get the G dates out I will see if any have an inspection stamp on the bottom of the receiver Lug.

What are thr details of the other markings on these Lugers.

Here are two G dates with stamps on the receiver lugs. Can't say that the numbers are 211.

Thought I'd send along some pictures of my G Date # 943 d. The number on the lug looks like a double stamp 1 followed by a 5.

Dave, you always go into the same posting and modify it. See the icon above the posting you made, you will see paper and a pencil, this is the edit, so you can go in and change something, I do it all the time for misspellings, taking out my snide remarks to Garfield (heh, heh, he is just too quick to the draw, and I can be a dullard at those quick remarks), and other mistakes from my literary endeavors.

Jan....The two G dates are both in the d suffix range....#2741d and #4003d with the same proofs as in this photo....it is #2741 that has no witness mark on the frame...

Very strange. I am new to this forum, I only have one luger, but alas its a "G" date also in the "d" block, 8752 with E63,E63 DE, it has the inspection proof on the reciever lug but E63, not 211 and the barrel serial no. is stamped vertically on the barrel and not horizontally as on most I have seen, it is all matching save for non matching mags. Pics of it I posted on the luger forum. Seems to be a few variations around. Also there is no metric caliber mark on the barrel either.
