I have a 1913 erfurt luger and I was wondering if anyone knows what the unit or regiment markings are. The markings on my pisol displays:
J.R.26.M.G.61
can anyone help me out here?

1913 Erfurt marked J.R.26.M.G.61. signifies: 26 Infanterie-Regiment, Maschinengewehr-Kompagnie, Waffe Nr. 61.
The 26 Infanterie-Regiment battled on the Western Front during World War I and was rated as a first class Division by Allied Intelligence.

I would appreciate the serial number of your Luger for my data base.

I will try and post some pictures soon. I also was wondering if there is a website for that unit. I did a brief search but it was unsuccessful. I am wondering because I think the name of the previous owner is on the holster. Thanks a lot. I will post shortly with pictures and serial in a few days hopefully.

Do not know of such a website. Sometimes the World War I history of the unit can be found. These were published by surviving members of the unit after World War I.
