Can anyone Identify this marking on my Walther PP.
It appears to be A Shield with three lions on it with a cirle around the shield. The marking has been over stamped or crossed out.
I was told it was a W.German police mark but I can't find anything
about it.
Anything else you can tell about the pistol will be appreciated.
It came in a matched Walther box with two matching magazines. One with a finger rest and one without.

The shield discribed is the shield of the federal state of Baden- Würtemberg.

It's a police acceptance stamp.The crossing out of the shield is typical for taking apart this pistol from use.
