I have a original WW2 P-38 brown holster. It is stamped P-38 on reverse,1944,and tyo,or fyo. Also the # 2 is stamped four times, one inside two are on front one on the back.Is the #2 associated with the Luftwaffe?
The holster came with a byf-43, P-38.Also the P-38 has on the underside of the slide two tit marks about an 1/8" apart. Are these some kind of test mark?My byf 42 Luger has them also. thanks john lang

Checked the leather and it is much softer than the Luger, you are probably right being made outside Germany. The double indents do look like rockwell test marks,I didnt think this test was availabl 60 yrs. ago. I hope a pic. will come with this post? Thanks John
