I Picked up a holster at local gun show. It is brown in color and above the matal stud is a square with the initals L.Z.S.T.and below that the letters H.Dr. Can any on tell me about who manufactured this particular holster. I checked R. W. book but coludn't find anything.

Joe, your holster is of the Imperial era. L.Z.St. stands for Lederzuweisungsstelle meaning a leather depot who delivered the raw material for manufacturing of leather goods like holsters, belts, slinges etc. The other leters reveal the city where the depot was located. Sttg. for example stands for the city of Stuttgart which is the capiutal of Wuerttemberg a state og Germany. At the moment I don´t know which city hides behind Dr. (Dresden?). Regards Dietrich

Dietrich is of course correct about the L.Z.St./H.Dr. (Dr. probably stands for Dresden). Just like to give you a link about some recent discussions here:

It's baout the comparable LZA marking, but it will be interesting for you, I guess.

Is your holster dated? I guess, it will be 1918 (or even 1917).
