Very interesting.

There was a discussion on my 1921 police, OPM 274, and saw another holster for sale on the US e-bay a month or so ago.

What Ed did not say: This is a police holster, probably issued to Ordungspolizei des Landes Macklenburg. There is nothing to associate it with any secret police organization (Gestapo).

VERY unlikely that the Geheime Staatspolizei used Lugers (P08s) - even in Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The law governing claims on the provenance of weaponry states that ludicrous claims increase in proportion to the square of the distance of the weapons´ origin (Law Governing the Number of Goering´s Lugers).
