Hello everyone, I have just received a Luger p08 (my first) and haven't found much information about it yet. Can you help me? Identification, approximate year of manufacture, army, police or civilian use, original or assembled from individual parts...
The Pistol barrel length (free-standing) is 800 mm

Thank you very much for your help.

Greetings from Switzerland

It's a 4" barrel (95-100mm range) - measure it from the muzzle tip to the front of the chamber.

It seems to have good grips and a hold-open, but the older unrelieved sear bar.
The side plate looks like it may be a Swiss or aftermarket replacement on the pistol.
The other side plate looks like it was numbered to the gun.
There are 2 DWM proofs on the receiver, so it was likely an Army pistol.

I would guess it from 1912-13.

Thank you very much for your answers.
That's correct, the side plate is Swiss-made. I received the original, but it had a small crack and was therefore replaced. Well spotted!
I have also found out that the DWM cartridges I received with it must also date from those years.
Your expertise is impressive!
