I have an extensive database of Bayard Model 1908 pistols. The Imperial proofed examples typically have two eagles plus a crown over gothic D mark, as per Jan's book.
I've encountered a few pistols with both eagles plus two C/D marks placed side by side. What would be the significance of the extra C/D?
I've now encountered a pistol which has both Imperial eagles, but, no C/D at all. What is the meaning of this?
One C/D is typical. What do zero and two mean?
