Hi Guys, I have a Black Flap top holster that came to me with an Astra 600/42 pistol in it. However I always thought it looked like my other Luger holsters but the pocket for the extra clip is too short and there is no compartment for a tool in the top. I find no maker marks anywhere only a "Unit" mark on front top edge where the flap covers ( " L P N " ) Written on inside of flap. ( W. Sch.) & (Pol-Abschn. Emden.) The holster is about 1" shorter than other luger holster I have and clip pouch is 1" to short for luger clip. One other mark on holster is a round stamp in the inside of holster about where the bottom of a clip would hit that has ( G with three ooo) above the horizonal leg. Any Ideas?

Your holster is a post WWII manufactured West German police holster for use by the Landespolizei Niedersächen. This style of holster was used with the Star Mdl B. The holster used by the LPN with the Astra 600 was black, however, of a slightly different design having a simple flap cover and mag pouch on the front, rather than the leading edge of the holster as on the one in your picture.

There is a good photo of your style holster in German Pistols and Holsters 1934-1945, Volume III by Whittington on page 309. Garfields I.D. is dead on. The "Gooo" is most likely "Geco". The caption states some of these holsters have Fake Nazi marks between the belt loops and below the LPN stamp.
