I need some help in identifying a Luger. I think it is a Weimar Police Rework probably but, it is in 7.65 mm cal.
The Luger started as a 1917 dated DWM military serial # 7506 a with crown/g,c/s,c/S and a horizontal c/N.
1. All numbers are matched and in the military style except the barrel.
2. It has the sear safety installed and is drilled and stocks modified for a magazine safety.
3. The barrel is 7.65 cal 3 5/8"? (measures 3 1/8 " to the face of the receiver). With a crown/N proof and the last 3 digits of the serial # 506 stamped ALONG THE AXIS OF THE BARREL and 7.65 stamped in the normal manner. The witness mark is aligned.
4. The receiver lug is stamped with an N and in the bottom of the receiver ahead of the lug looks like a 5/16"+/- flat faced set screw with vary narrow slot, flush finished with the receiver. There are two stamps adjacent to the screw? an S and a 1.
5. It has a square bottom blued fxo, e/37, P.08, drawn magazine with a concave aluminum base with NO markings.
The holster that came with this Luger resembles bulgarian holster. It is black with no tool pocket; the clip pocket is on the side in the normal Luger fashion the back of theholster is double thick leather with one wide (about 1 1/4") loop. There are no markings of any kind on the holster. It closes witha tab and brass button attached in the orientation of a normal buckel tab arrangment with the tab attached to the body of the holster and the button on the flap. The butt of the Luger is exposed under the flap.
I don't have pictures at this time.
