What happened to the post on the Jan Still Collection?

I was asked to pull it by Kathy.
I have heard she is putting together holsters with time period correct lugers / guns.
I am unsure if she will sell on this forum, I know she is taking better photos (mine were done very quick) and possibly a website.
I only say that because two folks told me that was happening.

Any questions on it, she can be reached at Kathy Still <stillslugers@gmail.com>

Isn't the forum owned by Second Media Corp, a subsidiary of VerticalScope?

The "Contact Us" leads to the following:

Second Media Corp.
111 Peter Street, Suite 600
Toronto, ON
M5V 2H1
Canada

It seemed to be absorbed shortly after Vic and Tuco sold out.

It would appear a few people have her ear.

A website sounds better than an auction house and I hope all involved make a few dollars. It is her inheritance after all.

My dad used to say "blood is thicker than water, but money's money"

I was already of the mindset that if things were going to go at a premium (over what the high condition would bring) simply because of the notoriety of the collection I would probably be out anyway.

My plan has always been enjoy it now, sell it later for a few dollars more.

I think most of us collectors would love to own something from Jan's collection.
His collection warrants a premium price.
I hope I can afford at least one of them.
And we'd like to see his family get ALL the proceeds.

On-line auctions are expensive for Sellers and Buyers, so that's not the way to do it right.

Hi,

This has ended up being a lot more work and time than I anticipated. I am hoping to start getting back to the emailed requests with offers soon. I will be starting at the oldest and work forward. I appreciate your understanding and patience. This has turned out to be quite a process and I understand why families decide to send to auction. I'd prefer to offer them privately as much as possible. This honors my father, his collecting, research, authorship, and forming of this community. It also honors my mother who put so much time into editing and helping my father write his books.

I am matching the guns with holsters and accessories as photographed in my father's books. I think he would want them to go together as much as possible.

I asked Ed to take the list down because I have realized it will be easier for me to match, photograph, and then post rather than take orders. I will post here on the forum about how I am going to proceed well before I start.

I am enjoying remembering my father this way, and hope to share that. Thanks for all the help, this community is so much more than I had realized.
