Hoya74, it appears your 263005 is a correct early, pre-January 15, 1940 commercial example. The Crown N proof changed to the Eagle N on January 15, 1940. The mag appears correct also. The pigskin holster probably was added later when cow/horse leather became more and more scarce. That's really difficult to determine because of the supply of leather to different producers of holsters. Regardless, you have a nice desirable Sauer. The Sauer looks good except someone has been inside of the slide probably to replace an extractor. Note the pin has been put back in from the right side rather than the left side which was its original position. I'm not totally convinced, but the pin was put in backwards for one of two reasons: 1/ by mistake; or 2/ an armorer's indication something had been repaired. That would include a new firing pin as well as an extractor. Best regards, Jim Cate

I bet those marks on the slide are the result of the work Jim discussed, sure looks like it was held in a vise, and not in a good way.
