Can anybody tell me what would be the market value of a Luger P08 DWM Long 1917? I am researching this for a friend who got this gun in a will. We are in Canada an if you do not have a licience for Resticted handguns you cannot keep it. So to keep this gun from being destroyer by the police, I am regestering it to my name until he finds a buyer.
Thanks,

Welcome to the forum, if you send me an email I can put you in touch with some montreal collectors or short of that their is several other avenues for dispersal.

If this firearm is still in the executor of the will's hands it may stay their untill your friend obtains the required license if so inclined.

Market value is dependant on condition and whether or not your friend has accessories to go with the luger.

Provide good description and photo's if you wish an accurate value.

He told me that the outside S/N all match, and that it is in very good condition( like you said I will have to wait and see). It has not been modified and does not have the holster or snailmag. It was brought back from Germany by his father after the second world war.

Hi Everyone,
I finally got the P08 Long. I would say that it has 70% of the blue, all major parts have matching last two digits, the mag is not the original and the knob on the locking bolt is gone (someone probably use a screw driver on it)
Here are some pictures

If anyone can tell me what it would be worth, and any interested buyers.

Richard, you have to upload the files and then leave a link for them to show up. I can help you with that if need be. You can also see under the help section there is an area that explains how to upload.

Eagleone, Unfortunately your photo's are worthless for estimating value. They are too dark and show no detail. Guns, like coins, the value is in the details. Jerry Burney
